Selling Sunset star Amanza Smith has said she believes her ex-husband, NFL star Ralph Brown, “doesn’t want to be found” after he disappeared from their children’s lives last year.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast 43-year-old Smith explained that the Brown, 42, had gone missing while she was filming hit Netflix show Selling Sunset.
The reality TV star said she is “positive” her ex-husband is alive but has not seen him since August 26, 2019, when he dropped their two children, daughter Noah, 10, and son Braker, nine, at school.
Smith said: “He’s off the grid. Whatever’s going on, and I have no idea what it is, he doesn’t want to be found right now.
“I know it sounds so crazy.
“He sent me an email, and he said, ‘My situation isn’t good right now. I can’t financially take care of the children. It’s not safe for them to be with me. You need to keep them until my situation changes.”
Smith received proof that the former pro athlete was still alive when she decided to file for full custody of the couple’s children.
“I know he’s alive because we’ve had to get an attorney and file court records because I’m trying to get full custody.
“And at one point he submitted something to the courts where he did a change of address. We traced it back, and it’s a P.O. Box at like, a UPS store,” explained Smith.
The star realtor said she had tried to contact her ex-husband’s family, but they have been “unresponsive”.
Smith and Brown were married for two years but parted ways in 2012.
