Chris Pratt Will Reunite With Avengers Directors Joe And Anthony Russo For An Action-Comedy Titled Saigon Bodyguards

According to Variety, the forthcoming movie will be a remake of a Vietnamese film of the same name.

The film will also feature Chinese martial artist, actor and director Wu Jing. The star’s previous credits include the war action film Wolf Warrior, whose sequel Wolf Warrior 2 became the highest-grossing movie in China, and the highest-grossing non-English language film ever.

The  2016 Vietnamese original focused on two professional bodyguards Trinh (Kim Ly) and Vien (Thai Hoa) who engage in a series of hilarious hijinks after they are enlisted to find a corporate heir who has been kidnapped.

The Russo brothers will be directing the remake alongside Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck (What Men Want, Veep) who will write the script.

Pratt recently wrapped shooting on the forthcoming Jurassic World: Dominion after the film faced multiple delays due to pandemic-related filming restrictions.

Last month, Pratt’s Marvel co-stars, including Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr, leapt to his defence after he was voted “the worst Hollywood Chris” by the internet when the actor was noticeably absent from an Avengers reunion intended to raise funds for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

Social media users, however, pointed out that the same actors who rushed to Pratt’s defence were silent when their other co-stars – including Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson – were being harassed online.
