Meghan Trainor Wouldn’t Be Returning For The 2021 Series Due To Her Pregnancy

The Voice UK recently announced that Meghan Trainor wouldn’t be returning for the 2021 series due to her pregnancy, and that singer Anne-Marie would be taking over.

The singing competition has had a number of line-up changes over the years, altering the dynamic quite a bit. We’ll have to wait and see what Anne-Marie will bring to the show, but she’s teased a little bit about what kind of coach she’ll be.

Speaking to Nihal Arthanayake on BBC Radio 5 Live, she said: “I’m a bit nervous about it because I just feel like I’m not going to be able to say anything to hurt someone, I’m just going to put everyone through!

“I am going to be really honest but I’m going to be making sure they are alright too… I mean, in this industry you do get mugged off quite a lot. I did say this to the crew, if I was to do it, I want to be majorly involved in the mental health side of things and be involved in the contestants, that whole part of it.”

The star did also admit that “deep down I am a competitive person”, so when it comes to battling against the other coaches she will go “full-out karate mode”.

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer talked about the impact that being bullied at school had on her life.

Earlier this year, Anne-Marie apologised after Ant & Dec wore some controversial outfits during her performance on their show Saturday Night Takeaway.
