Shona McGarty has contemplated whether or not her EastEnders character Whitney Dean would do well behind bars.
Currently on trial for murdering Leo King earlier this year, she’s set to learn her fate in next week’s dramatic episodes.
If Whitney is found guilty, would she crumble into tiny pieces or brave it out?
“Whitney got hit by a bus and then had it dropped on top of her and survived,” reflected Shona. “I think she’d be alright with a few scratches in prison.
“I think Whitney would try to make the best out of an awful situation and try to use her time to help people.”
There’s your answer then… she’d be absolutely fine among other criminals.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old also weighed in on Whitney “deserving” imprisonment.
“I think that Whitney knows that she did it out of self-defence, but all she can think is, I killed a man.
“Whitney’s got a tendency to think she’s done something wrong even if she hasn’t because that’s what people have told her all her life,” she explained. “So she just accepts that she’s going to be punished.”
Tune in next week to see how her trial unfolds.
EastEnders continues tomorrow (October 8) a 7:35 on BBC One.
