Andrea Pirlo, Juventus manager, spoke to the club’s official media and used it to clear up the reason why he decided to substitute the Brazilian Arthur Melo.
Juventus got an easy win on their visit to Budapest. Ferencvaros were no match for a Juve side that won 4-1.
Arthur starred in one of the negative notes of the match. The Brazilian had to go off at the break and Pirlo explained in detail what happened to him.
“He was not well from the beginning, he had stomach problems. He was not ready to run or in condition to play the game. We wanted to take him off after 20 minutes, but he decided to continue”, the manager started saying on ‘JuventusTV’.
In relation to the position of the ex-Barca player, Pirlo said the following: “It should be further forward, but it wasn’t. We thought of taking him off as soon as possible, but we held out until the end of the first half”, he concluded.
