Barcelona Tried To Loan Matheus To Monaco And Alaves

The newspaper ‘Sport’ says that Barcelona tried to find an exit for Matheus Fernandes on loan in the form of both Monaco and Alaves.

Neither of the two deals were closed, so the player will stay, at least, until January. He will wear the number ’19’ jersey.

Barcelona tried to loan out Matheus Fernandes, who will not have much of a role within Ronald Koeman’s squad, but did not succeed. ‘Sport’ says that the management offered him on loan to Monaco and Alaves. The problem is that the negotiations did not advance in time.

The objective of looking for a way out was to lighten the team’s wage bill and get rid of a player who has very few options on the field this season. Barca already have enough players for the midfield that are ahead of him in priority.

We will have to wait until January for the possibility of his leaving to come back to the table. The club, in fact, included him in its squadlist. He will wear the ’19’ left by Martin Braithwaite, who will wear the ‘9’ of Luis Suárez.

This is not the first time that Matheus Fernandes is in the squad. Last season, he already played on loan at Valladolid, where he also failed to carve out a place for himself in Pucel’s starting eleven. His future seems complicated at Barcelona.
