Real Madrid will have a hard time signing Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland before 2022, according to ‘AS’.
His club won’t let him leave before that date and, what is more, Los Blancos don’t plan on signing anyone to compete with Karim Benzema.
The Santiago Bernabeu has got big long term plans – Mbappé and Camavinga have been handpicked by Real Madrid for 2021/22.
Another one of the names on the Madrid shortlist is Erling Haaland. However, according to ‘AS’, they are in no hurry to complete the deal. He is behind Mbappé on their list of priorities.
According to the Spanish media outlet, Haaland will have to wait to join until after next summer. Madrid will try to get the deal done in summer 2022.
Borussia Dortmund don’t plan on letting him leave in the next two years. And, according to ‘AS’, Madrid don’t have him in their plans for 2021. The reason? Well, he would provide competition for Karim Benzema and the club is fully behind the Frenchman. They don’t plan on signing anyone to compete with him, not in the next 12 months anyway.
Real will continue to keep a close eye on Haaland and, undoubtedly, will want him on their team eventually. For the time being though, his arrival has been delayed by a couple of years.
