Max Eberl, director of sport at Borussia Monchengladbach, complained to ‘Sport1’ that his young player Florian Neuhaus is being associated with Bayern Munich.
The manager says that it has to stop happening with every new prospect if you ever want a competitive Bundesliga.
Max Eberl, director of sport at Borussia Mönchengladbach, is fed up with this tendency to associate every young player who starts to stand out with Bayern Munich. He made this clear in a statement to ‘Sport1’ when asked about the talented Florian Neuhaus.
“Sometimes I ask myself: What do we want? On the one hand, we all want a competition in which other clubs can also become champions; but on the other hand, these players are always connected with this club (Bayern). Why shouldn’t Florian Neuhaus stay with us,” he said.
His words make it clear that the intention of the club is to keep the player at the team. He currently has a contract until 2024, so it is easy for him to make good on the commitment he has signed. However, if he prefers to leave, the situation could become more complicated.
As to whether Bayern Munich would like him, at the moment, it is only said that Bayern are following him closely. No wonder, then, the 23-year-old midfielder is one of the best in the Bundesliga and has been for several seasons now.
