Chelsea’s new signing, Timo Werner, said in an interview with ‘Bild am Sonntag’ that he spoke to Germany manager Joachim Löw about his possible destinations before arriving in London. The Manager advised him to sign with Frank Lampard’s side.
Germany manager Joachim Löw advised his young pupil Timo Werner to go to Chelsea. The player, in ‘Bild am Sonntag’, confessed that he asked the coach for advice and he made it clear that the project he found most interesting was that of ‘the blues’.
“The coach finds the project that Chelsea are setting up here in London very interesting and that’s why he advised me to take this step,” said the striker.
“With Chelsea, I saw that I can play direct and be part of the starting team. With this project, I can grow,” he said. In his first two Premier League games, he was in the starting eleven.
“Chelsea may not be on a par with clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City at the moment, but when you see the young players here, development towards this goal is outlined and is absolutely possible in the years to come”, he concluded.
