Juventus were interested in securing the services of Jonathan Ikoné in 2016 when they could have signed the player for nothing less than 1.5 million euros.
Jonathan Ikoné is one of the sensations this season in Ligue 1. The Lille midfielder has started the season splendidly, with three goals and an assist in 11 matches and has been a key piece in Christophie Galtier’s system.
According to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, the player could have gone to Juve in 2016 for just 1.5 million euros, a figure very much below his current market value.
The player started for his team on Thursday against Milan in the third matchday of the Europa League. The Frenchman participated in the 3-0 away win, which puts them top of their group with 7 points.
Ikoné is under contract until 2023 at the French club, who he has played a total of 89 matches with until now since his arrival in the 18-19 season. The French gem would have been a great investment for Juve, but the club missed their chance.
