Lowly Brescia Kick-Off Proceedings To Axe Balotelli

MARIO BALOTELLI’S contract with the Italian’s hometown club Brescia has taken a further twist with proceedings being exercised today (June 30) to terminate his contract.

Striker Balotelli and his super agent Mino Raiola have fallen out with the Serie A team owner Massimo Cellino, which has induced a battle of words between the parties since mid-June.

The 29-year-old was absent from club training yesterday once more, as Brescia wish to exclude him as a tactic to ease Balotelli away from the three-year deal that he signed last July.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City hitman shocked the football world by joining Brescia, yet his signature brought tears of joy to his mother. However, the contract contains an exit clause for both parties if the club are relegated from the top flight.

With Brescia lying eight points from safety with 10 matches remaining, the outfit are making it clear that the former Italian favourite has played his last game for the side.

Balotelli, heavily linked with Brazil’s Vasco da Gama and Turkish giants Galatasaray since his fallout with basement side Brescia, bagged five goals in his 19 top tier matches for the club.

He was turned away from training by Brescia on June 15 and claimed, along with statements from Raiola, that he had been discriminated against by the club because they didn’t test him for the coronavirus.

Brescia swiftly instructed lawyers to take action against the pair after this spate, citing that these were false accusations and alleging that he kept missing training. Since their public war of words the club’s relationship with the enigmatic forward has stayed sour and this morning formal proceedings to axe Balotelli started.
