Megan Rapinoe hit out in an interview with the ‘BBC’, saying that “women’s football in England is the same as in the United States”, as well as pointing out that “it is so far behind because of what we’ve had to overcome in the lack of investment”.
Rapinoe was as outspoken and cutthroat as ever, criticising underinvestment in women’s football in both England and the United States.
“I think women’s football in England is the same as in America – it is so far behind because of what we’ve had to overcome in the lack of investment.

And we’re only just seeing a club like Manchester United put effort and pounds towards a women’s team? Frankly, it’s disgraceful”, she added.
The Red Devils are currently sitting top of the WSL, after being founded in 2018. They have five wins and a draw in their first six games this season.
