Moi Gómez seemed satisfied with the goalless draw against Atletico Madrid. The Villarreal player was very happy for his team: “We were at a very good level”.
Villarreal midfielder Moi Gómez said this Tuesday that the Castilian team “shows commitment” and is on the “right track” as shown by their display in the goalless draw against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.
“We knew that in Wanda we were going to suffer, that we would have to face a rival that makes it difficult for you, so we were prepared for that and to compete in the best way. The team shows commitment, we are in a good way and the performance and result at Wanda is proof of that”, he said in statements from Villarreal.
For Moi Gómez Villarreal was “a serious team, very solid and forceful”, that could have scored in some moments of the clash, although he insisted that in spite of not winning they played to a “very good level”.
The Alicante footballer added that now, with the international break, it is time to recover our strength. “A different week is coming, where we can recover and rest a little”, he said.
In addition, he was “satisfied” with the support of his coach, Unai Emery. “I have the same trust in the coach that he has shown in me. I am going to try to give it back to him on the pitch and give performances I can,” said the player.
With regards to his offensive game, Moi Gómez acknowledged that he has had some opportunities to shoot on goal, but added that “in those moments it is not easy to make that decision”.
