Paco Alcacer, a striker for Villarreal who is also the club’s top scorer, has set alarm bells ringing at the club after not taking part in the club’s most recent training session. He apparently has some muscle problems so he is a serious doubt for Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid at Estadio La Ceramica.
If the goalscorer’s absence is confirmed, Gerard Moreno could well be the main man up top and then Chukwueze and Kubo could play on the flanks. Another option is to make a like for like replacement. That would see Carlos Bacca come in for Alcacer while the rest of the XI would remain the same.
Pervis Estupinan and Samu Chukwueze trained on Friday. They were the two players who came back from international duty the latest. Juan Foyth and Jaume Costa also took part in training after recovering from muscle injuries.
