Ronald Koeman, Coach Of Barcelona, Showed His Confidence In Ousmane Dembélé

The coach praised his quality with the ball at his feet and said he is progressing well physically. Ronald Koeman will have to make some rotations in the upcoming matches, because he has four in eleven days.

And players like Ousmane Dembélé or Miralem Pjanic are going to be very useful to him in his rotations. In fact, he praised the Frenchman in the press conference before the match against Getafe.

“Dembéle has a lot of quality and, little by little, physically, he is getting better. I’m very happy with the training he’s been doing lately,” he said. This does not match certain reports that suggested Koeman wouldn’t rely on him this season.

But the attacker will have to be of use. The club’s main market target for this season is Memphis Depay and he will come in the winter transfer window at the earliest. The consequence? That the coach will have to use the players he currently has in his squad.

If Dembélé manages to get his injuries under control, he could regain a position he hasn’t held since the 2018-19 campaign. He then played in 42 matches, starting 30 and even scoring 14 goals, the highest record of his career. Since then, physical problems have kept him out of the spotlight.
