The arrival of Thomas Partey has made a huge impact at Arsenal. The Gunners won at Old Trafford for the first time in 14 years and the former Atletico man dominated the midfield, prompting Roy Kean to compare him to the legendary Patrick Vieira on ‘Sky Sports’.
Arsenal beat Manchester United at Old Trafford with behind a solitary Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang penalty. The Gunners were on fire, buoyed by summer signing Thomas Partey who is now the cornerstone in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
It was Arsenal’s first win at Old Trafford for 14 years and the Ghanain made a real impact over the course of the 90 minutes. Speaking for ‘Sky Sports’, United legend Roy Keane heaped praise on Thomas.
“He was outstanding. He’s obviously no mug having played in big games. When you watch a player live that’s when you can judge a player and the more I look at him the more I wish he was in the United midfield. He’s big, strong and aggressive – and he can pass it forward. He can deal with the ball, ” said Keane.
But the biggest compliment was yet to come from the former United man. Keane went on to compare Thomas Partey to Patrick Vieira, the Arsenal legend who played 336 games over nearly a decade in North London.
“I had my battles with Vieira and I think this kid has got a chance of matching what Patrick used to do,” concluded the Irishman.
